"I have been working with individuals since 1983, couples since 1989, and running Mixed and Men's groups since 1985. I began my therapeutic journey in 1977 by participating in a six month encounter group then, having realized what a powerful agent for change psychotherapy could be, started having individual therapy as well as participating in numerous weekend groups.

In 1979 I began training in Psychosynthesis and in Primal Integration, and in 1981 got involved with Spectrum (London), where I am still connected both personally and professionally. I was one of the original staff members (1987-1994) and was registered with the U.K.C.P in 1986.

In 1999, tired of commuting between London and the West Country, where I had moved with my family in 1995, I closed my London practice and focused my work in Bristol where, in 2001, I opened the Alma Vale Centre with my fellow directors Andy, Jill and Marion.

In my experience very often people are more comfortable and willing to talk about their sexuality than about money, particularly when asked specific questions about how much somebody is earning, or has in the bank.

In my work I have been helping both individuals and couples deal with a number of financial issues, from how to deal with inheriting money, to feelings of envy towards others who are seen as better off, to how to live in a relationship where one partner earns more, to how having or earning money is tied up with feelings of self worth. I have found that looking at how attitudes around money were formed through family and social messages, enables people to become more real, feel better about themselves, and get realistic about what is financially possible or appropriate."
